The Director of New Delhi’s leading think tank Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies IPCS, Dr. Suba Chandran gave a talk on India’s role in the changing political dynamics and how the internal and external factors cast an impact both within the country and outside it. In a very candid and informative session, Dr. Chandran discussed the election of Narendra Modi as the prime minister of India and how it has affected and been interpreted by different constituencies and stakeholders within the country. He also examined in detail and responded to questions regarding how Modi’s rise to power and India’s changing role will impact Pakistan, regional peace and security, as well as New Delhi’s aspirations for great power status. He also responded to questions about rising fundamentalism in India, Delhi’s afghan policies and future of India Pakistan relations.
