Training Workshop for Students on Model United Nations

The Department of Defense and Strategic Studies organized an introductory training workshop regarding Model United Nations (MUN). Chairperson of Department Dr Shabana Fayyaz chaired the session. In her introductory remarks, she highlighted the importance of debates like MUN for the grooming of Students.

Guest Speakers including Mr. Usama bin Ashraf (Research Associate MUSLIM Institute, alumni DSS Department 15-17), Mr. Muhammad Mehboob (MSc 19-20) and others provided a detailed information about the United Nations, its various organs and then the concept of Model United Nations, its importance and working mechanism. Mr. Muhammad Mudasir Ayub (PhD Scholar at History Department QAU) briefed the students about Resolution Drafting.

Model United Nation is a platform modeled by United Nations for student to have an exposure and experience related to their relevant field. This platform helps students in their research, analytical skills, writing and exposure which could be beneficial in their career building. The workshop also included an interactive session with Students, where they asked questions regarding the MUN.
